Community service opportunity! This is for FFA members but may also include others who need community service hours! Tomorrow, May 19 at 7 pm at the Logan County Fairgrounds for some trash clean up. I can take a van from Tryon to Stapleton for students who would like a ride. We will leave at 6:30 pm. Please let Miss Choat know ASAP!
McPherson County Schools is grateful to announce the grant award from Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation for the purchase of Digital Media Equipment. Through the John Russell Applegate Fund for Teachers Grant, MCS has been able to purchase a Sony HD Camcorder as well as background lighting, external microphone, camcorder accessories, and a DJI OM4 Stabilizer. This equipment has been instrumental in the production of our weekly news segment, The McPherson County Minute. The grant also funded the purchase of a DJI Mavic 2 Pro Drone. This is a high-quality drone that affords our students the opportunity to learn how to operate the latest equipment. The use of drones has increased, not only in the digital media segment of education, but also in the agricultural section as well.
We are extremely grateful for this award. This equipment will absolutely enhance the quality education that the students of MCS already receive. Thank You, Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation for your continued support of our students!
Sorry for the late notice. Any 7-12 girls for next year interested in playing volleyball, there will be a meeting in Stapleton today starting at 2:20 in the Bronco Room. If you cannot make it contact Coach Victory at 308-430-1731. The meeting is about camps, open gym, and weights.

The High School Quiz Bowl team competed at the ESU 16 meet! The tournament didn’t end up like we wanted and faced some tough competition!
As part of the embryology project with the NE Extension, the Intro to Ag, Biology, 3rd and 4th grade incubated eggs. The students have learned about hen reproduction, the parts of an egg, incubation requirements, egg candling, poultry genetics, and caring for chicks. Students monitored and recorded the temperature and humidity daily.

HS FFA members had a NE State Convention watch party, participated in the NE Foundation GooseChase and played games in the afternoon. They also learned about egg candling and worked with the 3/4 grade students to candle the eggs.
JH FFA members competed in the JH Ag Quiz Bowl contest this morning. They also are enjoying popcorn donated from the Nebraska FFA Foundation! As well as popcorn and lemonade from the NE State FFA Association!
