Mrs. Bay's elementary music students were having fun learning about notes, beats, and music definitions with a fun music quiz game.
At lunch, junior high and high school students listened to Brooklynn on her campaign trail for student school board representative. Votes will be tallied later today.
Today we celebrated Reatta for completing the summer reading challenge! Her favorite thing that she did on the challenge was, "Read to my dog." Congratulations Reatta! Keep on reading!
Fall season is upon us! Cross country started their season yesterday with some great times and Pr's, volleyball kicked off their season as well playing hard, and today our football will be playing their season opener along with volleyball home opener! Come support the kids and check out some new renovations we have done to our facilities! We can't leave out our younger Mavericks with our book exchange! Join us tonight in Tryon!

September is going to be a busy month for us here at MCS! Please note that there is no school Monday Sept. 1st for Labor Day, and also no school Tuesday Sept. 2 for Staff Development. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend to start the month!

The yearbook class is working on proper picture-taking techniques.
Junior High-Wednesday we do have an early out, but you may still go to practice as we will have transportation. If you are not going, please let Mrs. Florea know so she can relay the message to your coaches. The van will leave at 1:30 to go to Stapleton. High school transportation will leave at 3:30 for your practice at Stapleton.

Don't forget about our Little Mavericks Book exchange, Friday August 30th at the volleyball and football games! Bring a gently used book and exchange it for another book! Your reading possibilities are endless!
