The MCS Accounting Students traveled to Stapleton on Wednesday, to attend a Accounting/Finance workshop put on by the UNL Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, a international honor society for accounting, finance, and information systems students. This was a great opportunity for our students to meet and interact with college students that are majoring in the accounting/finance. They learned about the vast opportunities that available to students interesting it the accounting/finance industry. Be it collegiate competitions, travel, internships, and eventually employment. Business students from multiple area schools attended the workshop. There was a local CPA that spoke to them about job opportunities in the accounting world from auditing to forensic accounting to tax preparation. Our students enjoyed themselves and afterwards took part in a community service project, tying blankets for a local animal shelter. A big thank you to Stapleton Public Schools for hosting the event as well as to Trinity Hansen for bringing Beta Alpha Psi to the region. Also, we want to thank Milissa Kramer for giving up her valuable time to speak to the students.
