The McPherson County JH had the privilege to travel to Red Cloud and visit the Willa Cather Center. They also went on a tour of Willa Cather's Childhood Home, J.L Miner House, the Burlington Depot, Grace Episcopal Church, St. Juliana Falconieri Catholic Church, and the Red Cloud Opera House.
The whole experience was unique, educational, and just plain fun. The staff at the Willa Cather Center were very professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Lastly, our students were so well behaved. The ladies running The Willa Cather said they were the best students they have had and tried to keep them all, lol.

One-act students are working hard on their lines and prepping for their first competition coming up this Saturday, November 6th.
*All cast and crew need to be at the school by 9 a.m. Saturday.
*Bring money for meals. Gothenburg will have Husker hotdogs, pizza, and walking tacos available at their concession stand. All items are $3 each.
*North Platte kids will be dropped off at Cody Park on our way back. We should be at Cody Park around 4:15 and back at the school by 4:45.

See what is happening this week at McPherson County!

I just received word, 3:25 p.m. October 27, that there is a food pantry on the south side of the fair building. If you would like free groceries, please head over there now. I am not sure how long they will be there. Thank you!

Reminder that the Jr. High will be going to the Willa Cather Center tomorrow, October 28. They will leave Tryon at 6:30 a.m. and pick up in Cody Park at 7:05 a.m. Students need to bring their permission slips or they will not be able to go. They will be back to North Platte around 3:30 p.m. and in Tryon around 4:05 p.m. They will not be going to Stapleton to drop off kiddos.

See what is happening at school this week!
